I'm going to be straight with you because that's the only way I know how to be. A few years ago, I weighed over 300 pounds. I was a disabled Navy veteran dealing with chronic pain, poor sleep, and the kind of mental fog that makes you feel like you're watching your own life from behind glass. I'd tried the VA route, the prescriptions, the "just push through it" mentality. None of it was working.
The Turning Point
The turning point wasn't dramatic. There was no single moment of clarity on a mountaintop. It was more like a slow realization that the path I was on had a dead end. I started researching hemp wellness โ not because I thought it was a magic bullet, but because I was running out of options and figured I owed it to myself to at least look into it. What I found was a world of possibility buried under a mountain of misinformation, overpriced products, and companies that clearly didn't care about the people they were selling to.
Building Something Different
That frustration became the seed for Shanti's Lounge. I didn't set out to start a business โ I set out to find products I could trust for myself. When I couldn't find a retail experience that combined real education with quality products and genuine respect for the customer, I decided to build one. The name "Shanti" comes from the Sanskrit word for peace, and that's what this whole journey has been about: finding a sustainable, honest path toward feeling better.
What This Business Really Is
Shanti's Lounge isn't just a hemp store. It's the place I wish had existed when I was at my lowest. Every product we carry has been personally vetted. Every conversation we have with a customer starts with education, not a sales pitch. We don't make medical claims. We don't promise miracles. We offer high-quality hemp products, honest information, and a space where veterans, first responders, and everyday people can explore wellness on their own terms. That's it. And honestly, that's enough.
